Woman, sixty, and still trying to get it right. Stumbling the path toward the Divine. Discussing things like grandparenting, Waldorf education, child development, nature, human awareness, empty-nesting, breast cancer, and knitting luscious things once in awhile.
I am blessed with the innate ability to see beauty in the simplest things in life. That is my gift, and that is what blesses me with a photographic eye; and I really believe that it is what keeps me sane. There, through my human lense, I find happiness and glory and joy on even the toughest days. The things that I see around me can move me to tears in an instant. These tears:
"...they are messengers of unspeakable love" - Washington Irving
So when you see some lady driving next to you just blubbering away, stop and think that maybe it's all just a good thing. And look up at the sky and all around you. You might find a blessing.
Thank You for this day. Thank You for my safety and the safety of my loved ones. As I enter sleep, may these hours give me peace. May they bring healing to my mind and body. While I sleep, dear Lord, please bless the world. Where there is pain, where there are people who have no place to sleep, who suffer and who die, may Your angels come unto them and minister to their lives. Dear Lord, Please let the light stream in. Please use my hours of sleep. Please prepare me, during these hours of rest, For greater service to You. May the light that surrounds me, tomorrow Shine through me. Soften my heart. Thank You, Lord. Amen.
I'm not sure how one blog works in with another, but here I am. There is also a link to me over there in the sidebar blog roll. My new blog Sweetheart Mabel Rose Petal Darling is specifically geared to the everyday life of aging parents in America and ending life with love, compassion and dignity. The true story of a family trying to make that promise come true.
Today is the day that Mom comes home. My whole family, as well as her new caregiver, Tokasa, have all been working together so incredibly hard to make this a warm and comfortable transition for her.
If you're the praying sort, please offer one up for her happy, grateful transition home from the nursing home. And stay tuned for my first post on my new blog Sweetheart Mabel Rose Petal Darling where I will share the day-to-day ins and outs of ageing parents in our society. I'll let you know how today went!
There's something new up my sleeve and in the works: a new blog dedicated solely to the everyday ins and out of aging parents. I call it "Sweetheart Mabel Rose Petal Darling", which is how I addressed anyone as a very young child when I really wanted something to go my way. My mom loved this.` Pulling it out of my bag of tricks during this time of change.
