Daughter Shannon has been telling me how cold it has been there in Olympia this winter. So I had the bright idea to surprise them with a family of crocheted hats. Soft, cozy crocheted hats. I crocheted to the song of each individual personality in that family and finally finished over last weekend when I had the flu, bundled them up with a ribbon and got them in the mail on Monday.
Last night while I was in an orientation meeting she called and left me a voicemail that said she had some good news and bad news. When I got out I called her only to hear how much they loved the caps, but that the three for the children were too small. I always ask for measurements, but this time I wanted it to be a complete surprise.
It was. To me.
At least she told you the truth and you two can deal with it as you see fit. It is dreadful when people don't want to hurt your feelings and pretend everything is OK.
