While recently spending a week with the grand kids in Olympia, we created a little fairy village while carving pumpkins. We lit the path with yet more leaf lanterns, and grandson Ikey made a little grass fairy out of beeswax.
It was such a great week up there. SIL Isaac went to Mexico to help his parents and I took over his cooking/schlepping/loving role while Shannie was at work. I got to know my newest little guy so well by spending so much time caring fo him. He is a delight!
The kids and I made apple fritters together with the gifted fresh picked apples from friends.
And I got to spend some time with my dear sweet Jahan (my first nanny-baby in Chicago, remember?) and his family!
And then I came home to more celebration with my Sonoma family, all gathered together to carve pumpkins, watch the World Series, and draw for Dios de los Muertos!
Poor little Temple just could not wrap her head around grabbing the goop inside the pumpkin. As hard as she tried to do her part, she could not touch the insides! Heartbreaking, right?
But she did have fun painting Busha into a kitty:
Satchel was the best sport when I called him over and told him I wanted to paint his face. he said he did not want it painted and I promised I'd only paint a tiny bit:
And Temple then became "Pretty Monster Bunny Ghost":
And Auntie Camille, her boyfriend, Collin, and Temple decorated the family kitchen chalkboard in such a beautiful way:
Happy Halloween, everyone! The rains came to California today...will have some wet trick-or-treaters!
Delightful that you shared all of this with your followers. You set the gold standard for grandmotherhood! I'm coming next year if there is the perfect costume out there.
