Pinch me. Back here in Chicago only 6 weeks later! That's pretty wonderful in my book.
This time I am here for daughter Shannon's graduation from medical residency. She's now a full-fledged anasthesiologist, soon to be headed to a private practice group in Olympia, Washington. So much went into her decision of where to work. Her professional self heard the calling to a Trauma I center in El Paso. Her business-minded self considered a three year position in Dubai where the US government would pay off her med school loans. Her sentimental self considered a position in California (from wence she came). But now that the decision has been made, her mama self chose this position in Olympia, Washington. This position that offers her a lot more free time with her three young children (and one a newborn).
Proud mama. Proud of so much, but mostly proud of the mama she is.
wow Marianne! just wow on every level!

Congratulations to your daughter! What an absolutely huge accomplishment! In my very humble tiny opinion I believe that if there is a hierarchy in the medical field an anasthesiologist trumps all others!
She and her family will love the Olympia area! A hop skip and jump away to our beautiful coastal beaches!
Enjoy your time with your family in Chicago!

Congratulations to her and to you! You should be a VERY proud mama. And they will love Olympia, especially my favorite coffee shop downtown.
