Lovely night at home. Quiet. Listening to carols and making my own gift wrap. I recently treated myself to the collosal package of Martha Stewart glitter, which, in my humble opinion, is just about the best. Beautiful colors and a ceamy, flowing texture. I sat down with the glitter, a glue stick, and a roll of newsprint that has been around here forever. And I began to draw with the glue stick...
Each piece is designed with a certain gift in mind. Just like I do most crafty things, I treasure the time thinking about each person as I do my work/art for them. It's like a double gift: a blessing as well as something tangeable.
And then for my ribbon, I love the fanciful whimsy of six to eight inch wide tulle that can be purchased on spools at most of the big box craft and fabric stores. My favorite this year is white with little cotton snow balls on it. I actually found it in the bridal section at Michael's.
I also bought some big, gold cardboard stars (in a dollar bin at JoAnn's) and sticker letters (in the scrapbooking section) for my name tags. Sparkly and fun for the little ones!
And inside it all? A very beautifully illustrated, complete collection of Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes. A must for every pre-reading child! Wait. Actually, for every child.
My inscription:
Dear, Sweet Temple,
May your life always be as fun as a well-written nursery rhyme!
I Love You,
Busha
