This is a photo of my two ex husbands together at a recent family dinner. I thought this would be fun to share. Not many ex wives actually enjoy spending time with not one, but two ex husbands in the same room. I like mine. And the kids love it that we can all be together.
On the left is Alex and Camille's dad, and on the right is Brooke, Shannon and Zachary's dad.
So this dinner was a general goodbye, since everyone is making huge changes in their lives. It was potluck, with the theme, "What was one of your favorite dishes growing up?" Following dinner, we had a white elephant gift exchange: something we found while packing that we no longer wanted or needed. I got Zak's, and it was the right to name the family blog that he started. It will be password protected and is a way for us all to keep in contact. I named it, "The Clothesline. A place to air it all out." I gave a copy of the DVD set "Planet Earth". Part of me wanted to keep it, but there is always that one coveted find at a white elephant exchange that isn't a joke. Usually mine is the joke, so this was fun.
Brooke's was great too. She cleaned out her wallet and had an envelope full of punch cards and gift cards and such. Carson's girlfriend mandy got that one. I stole it from her, but then Carson stole it back from me for her. Anyway...
The best dish, I think, was Brooke's...she made turkey amd red mashed potatoes, reminiscent of one Thanksgiving when she and her sister got creative while mashing the potatoes, put food coloring in them and caused a HUGE family fight when my mom got mad, saying they ruined the whole meal. It was a rediculous fight, one everyone continues to laugh about (except my mom).
And what did I make? Good ol banana puddin' just like my dad taught me!
